Is Pathways In Education free?
Yes! Pathways In Education is completely FREE for students. There are no tuition fees of any kind. Additionally, we cover all costs for field trips, including international trips.
Are you an accredited program, and credits transferable?
Pathways In Education (PIE) is accredited by Cognia, formerly known as AdvancED. This ensures that the credits students earn are fully transferable between PIE and other accredited schools.
What is your school's letter grade?
Pathways In Education, Arizona is proud to have a B letter grade. This rating reflects our commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and a supportive learning environment. It also demonstrates our success in areas such as student achievement, graduation rates, and college readiness.
Are you a completely online program?
Students are able to take all of their courses 100% online. However, we recommend students come in at least twice a week for a two-hour appointment. This allows us to check in with students and provide the support they need to stay on track with their academic progress.
What platforms do you use for online and independent studies?
We primarily use Edmentum for online learning. We also use online resources for testing and enrichment. Students have the option to do independent study through SAW (Student Activity Workbooks). They can choose to do a combination of online and independent studies. Both platforms offer a wide variety of courses and allow students to work at their own pace with support from our teachers.
When do we offer SGI (Small Group Instruction)?
Small Group Instruction (SGI) is typically offered throughout the year. Specific schedules are determined based on student needs and course availability. Students can contact their center for more details about upcoming SGI sessions.
Do you accept students with IEPs and 504 Plans?
Yes, we accept students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans. Our team works closely with students, their families, and support staff to provide accommodations and ensure their educational needs are met.
Can a student join at any time and pick us where they left off, or do they need to wait until the next grading period and start over?
Students can join PIE at any point during the school year and pick up right where they left off in their previous coursework, as long as they were passing their class before transferring to us. Additionally, we apply the credits students have already earned toward the 22 credits required for graduation in Arizona. Our flexible, individualized approach allows students to continue their education without losing progress.
What type of intervention support do you offer?
PIE offers various intervention supports, including personalized tutoring, academic coaching, and counseling. We work one-on-one with students to address their specific academic needs and provide additional support to ensure success.
Do you provide student transportation?
Transportation services are not provided by PIE, but we work with students and families to find solutions that make attending classes as convenient as possible, such as creating flexible schedules that minimize travel needs.
How do you track attendance?
Attendance is tracked through a combination of methods, including student participation in online coursework, in-person meetings, and completed assignments. Regular check-ins with teachers also help ensure students remain on track with their learning goals.
